The UK team arrived 03.30 in the morning.
Dignite from Russia is transported to Viborg. the Russian team has to sail Dignite across the border because of trouble with the customs.

Misha and his Russian crew are out on a training camp on the island Totleben. They have sent the international boats Enchante and Mechta on a truck to Jakobstad. The truck is at the boarder. According to Misha “the custom find a crime: one bottle of paint and 4 paint brushes”. We hope to get the gigs across the boarder as soon as possible.

The summer festival starts 20th July and ends 27th July. All events are for free and teams arriving early should use this possibility to celebrate our summer with the locals. All teams are invited to join the big festival parade on Saturday 26th July. Gathering at the school 9.30.

The two international boats Enchante and Mechta will arrive to Jakobstad on Thursday. The Russian team in St Peterburg has worked very hard to get these boats to Finland. We are all very grateful. At this moment we have 28 - 30 people joining the international crews. Jonna says that she accepts 2-4 more people. Time for a late decision to come to Jakobstad? Send an e-mail to Jonna if you are interested.

News about food costs & boarding.

We got offers from catering companies and food suppliers. According to the preliminary menu (see Accomodation!) the cost for one person during the contest (7,3 days) will be  16 € per day (117 € / 22 meals). We can offer pre contest teams catering meals, breakfast 3,50 € and supper 5,20 €.

Pre-contest breakfast (4 €) and supper (7 €) are available.

Rescue boats and first aid. Every day the water events will be assisted by one bigger SAR rib boat and two smaller SAR ribs with 7 crew members on board.  There is also a first aid team stand by with a medical doctor and his staff.

Pre-contest training teams!

The week before the contest there is an annual summer festival going on in Jakobstad. You can spend the days training on water and the nights downtown with loads of cultural program and big street parties. Later on you get details about the festival program.

20 rooms for 40 people are booked at the Hotel Vega 100 meters from the Yacht Club for trustees, events committee and so on.
